ABOUT THIS PROJECT
BSKB is the UK's largest TV broadcaster with 11 million customers as of 2015. As part of the online creative team, I was responsible for leading the visual design of a £1m+ project that focused on redeveloping the My Sky customer website to increase awareness, drive engagement, and communicate the value of being a Sky customer.
Brief: It came to us from the directors at Sky who requested their in-house creative team to come up with 3 completely new ways of interacting with the MySky vertical on their website.
Currently used to manage your account and discover everything you can get as a Sky customer, we decided as a team to design this new site around four core areas: Content, Experience, Management and Social Media and 6 design principles: Simplicity, human touch, personality, consistency and delight.
A team of 12 was then picked out to work on this brief and all of us were then split into 3 groups that would each deliver a different experience. I, together with a UX designer, an art director and 2 creative directors, were in charge of delivering the ‘panels’ project which went on to be chosen by the board of directors as the winning idea.

First page loads with 4 key units, each of them flex in prominence depending on several factors;
user status, new product launches and business priorities. They are also colour-coded throughout the journey to aide navigation.

Part of the 'experience panels', this section contains a quick snapshot of your accounts, your TV package usage and settings.

Users are encouraged to activate free Sky Products so that all information offered can be tailored around them.
They can add devices to their existing TV package, sign up for new services and optimise their relationship with Sky here anytime.
MY TV GUIDE
Houses content recommendations based on a combination of user viewing habits/scheduling/popularity as well as independent reviews.

When the user interacts with content panels, the unit expands to reveal trailers, recommendations,
news, past episodes, social media and the ability to record the show.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Clicking on the recommendations tab will showcase a bigger library of tv shows and
movies related to the content you are currently viewing.
